Welcome to Jaintia Degree College
"Jaintia Degree College" is an old educational institution for the higher education of the people in Jaintapur upazila of Sylhet district. A meeting was held at Central Jainta High School on the call of "Jainta Kendriya Chhatra Parishad" for the spread of higher education among the people of these three upazilas, backward in education and economically poor bordering (1) Jaintapur (2) Goainghat (3) Kanaighat. The decision to establish the college was taken in the said meeting.Jaintia Degree College was established in the year 1987 along the nationally important Sylhet Tamabil highway in the middle of the mentioned three upazilas with the overall cooperation of Mr. Imran Ahmed, the Honorable Member of Parliament of the area
